London Boroughs: Kensington and Chelsea

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, just to the west of central London, is one of the most densely populated authorities in Britain and also one of the wealthiest. Its one of the smallest boroughs geographically, almost boot shaped and running from the River Thames in the south to Kensal Green in the north, extending westwards from Knightsbridge and Sloane Square to West Brompton, Kensington Olympia and White City, and hugging the south and west borders of Hyde Park.

Like Westminister, it’s a borough that the average visitor to London will spend a lot of time in because of the things to do and places to see, whether its shopping at Harrods, the Kings Road or the Old Brompton Road, visiting to Natural History, Science and V&A museums, watching concerts and shows at the Royal Albert Hall or visiting the exhibition and music venues at Earls Court and Olympia. Notting Hill is in Kensington and Chelsea and its annual carnival in August normally brings a million or more people onto the streets and the annual Chelsea Flower Show in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea is another massive crowd puller.
