Visit Chicago for Lollapalooza in August

The three day Lollapalooza music festival has been held every year in Grant Park in Chicago since 2005.  This year’s festival will be held August 6-8, and tickets are on sale now, with 3-day passes costing $225. This year’s line up includes acts like Green Day, Lady Gaga, Social Distortion, Spoon, Wolfmother, The Walkmen, Felix da Housecat, Devo, Cyprus Hill, and many more.

VIP passes are $850 but they include access to the Lolla Lounges and special viewing platforms, special reserved air-conditioned restrooms, and freebies like mini spa treatments. And of course, the unlimited food and drink could make the price very much worth the extra cost.

Chicago is ideal in summer, with hot, sunny days, plenty of things to do and see, great dining and nightlife, beautiful beaches and public parks, and plentiful shopping. Of course, it’s also high-season for tourists so cheap tickets to Chicago are harder to come by, especially if you wait until the last minute. Cheap hotels in Chicago tend to be another story – waiting until your date of arrival gets closer can actually save you money, as hotels want to get rid of unsold rooms and will lower the prices. For Lollapaloose, the best Chicago hotels for will be located closest to Grant Park.
