Jazz outside by the Thames

morelondon.jpgAs well as showing films, The Scoop is also hosting four evenings of free jazz music in June as part of the City of London Festival. Like the movie screenings the jazz evenings are first come first seated and the shows will be on each Tuesday of this month from 6.30pm-8.30pm. The lineup includes the following acts.
5 June – Cubana Bop One of Europe’s great Latin jazz bands this six piece group features original music written by band leader and keyboardist Terry Seabrook.
12 June – Alex Garnett’s Jazz Ambassadors Alex Garnett is one of the most exciting sax players in Europe and he and his band play a blend of hard-bop and mainstream jazz.
19 June – The Anjali Perin Quartet features the vocals of Anjali Perin, Liam Noble on piano, Amy Baldwin on bass and Jim Hart on drums playing jazz standards and original compositions.
26 June – Alec Dankworth’s ‘Spanish Accents’ Double bassist Alec Dankworth along with guitarist Phil Robson, saxophonist Mark Locheart, violinist Chris Garrick and drummer/percussionist Marc Miralta play jazz standards, folksongs and originals with a Spanish flavour.

The Scoop is on the southbank between Tower and London bridges, the nearest Tube is London Bridge.
