Jazz in Greenwich

jazz.jpgGreenwich holds a eleven day Main Riverfront Jazz Festival each September, this week it also hosts the shorter Spring Riverfront Jazz Festival.

Its on from 10-15 May at various pubs, jazz clubs and hotels all fairly close together in the area around Maritime Greenwich except for one event at the Greenwich Yacht Club further down river past the Millennium Dome.

There are multiple gigs most days, starting around midday on the weekend and the majority are free. Ones that do charge admission range in price from £2-£7. Even if you’re not going for the jazz Greenwich is a very pleasant part of London to walk around, right on the river with a compact centre with lots of bars and restaurants, and the old Royal Naval College, Greenwich Park, National Maritime Museum and Royal Observatory within a couple of minutes walk.
