Free guided walks of London

bb.jpgIf you’re a visitor to London and in town this weekend there’s a great oppurtunity to experience guided tours of central London for free. As part of International Tourist Guide Day, London’s Blue Badge guides, who are trained and examined by the UK’s tourist boards, are having a free Blue Badge Guide Walking Weekend where they offer eight guided walking routes on Saturday and Sunday, 17-18 February.

Each of the walking routes will start from a train or Tube station and the guides will be outside holding blue balloons. They’ll start on the hour from 11am-3pm each day and there’s no need to book, just turn up and join the walk. If you’re new to London these walks will give you a good feel for some of the most important central parts of the city and the guides should have a lot of good information for you. The eight routes are as follows,
Kings Cross – Holborn
Holborn – Leicester Square
Leicester Square – Victoria
Victoria – Waterloo
Waterloo – London Bridge
London Bridge – Liverpool Street
Liverpool Street – St Paul’s
St Paul’s – King Cross
and you can join as many of these as you like.
