City Hall open day

cityhall.jpgLondon’s City Hall has one of its regular open weekends this week, all though this time its only opening up to the public on Sunday 17 June from 10am-5pm.

City Hall on the banks of the River Thames houses the Greater London Authority and the Mayor of London, and a number of times a year opens areas that the public usually don’t have access to including the Chamber, used for major meetings and debates, the spiral stairs that offer views of the open-plan offices and the Mayor’s Conference Room, and London’s Living Room on the ninth floor which has a wrap around open air balcony giving great views of the eastern part of London. Worth going into if you’re around that part of London on Sunday.

City Hall is just west of Tower Bridge along the Queen’s Walk. The nearest Tubes are London Bridge and Tower Hill.
