Art Car Boot Fair 2007

acbf.jpgIf you’re not caught up in this Sunday’s weekend of sport in the UK what with Wimbledon reaching a climax, the Tour de France leaving London and everyone going Lewis Hamilton crazy at the British Grand Prix, a different kind of event will be drawing a crowd to the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane with the 2007 edition of the Art Car Boot Fair.

It features art from over 60 artists selling their work from the backs of cars along with a lineup of entertainment including live DJs, burlesque performers, beatboxers, live music and air guitar champions, an organic barbecue and summer cocktails. The Art Car Boot Fair is sponsored by Vauxhall and they’ve commissioned four artists, Sarah Baker, Ian Monroe, Sir Peter Blake and Anthony Gross, to customize four of the latest cars from the Vauxhall range.

Its on this Sunday 8th July from 12pm-6pm with admission £2 and the organisers say its ‘the most fun you’ll have out of the back of a car since you were a teenager.’ If you know how to bargain and can get some up and coming artist to give up their work on the cheap it just might be. Liverpool Street and Aldgate East are the nearest Tubes.
