So, what should your next stop be on your European vacation after London? Amsterdam is an excellent choice.
Plan to travel to Amsterdam during the late Spring or mid-Fall shoulder season, when prices are lower and crowds haven’t yet taken over the central city. If you don’t mind a bit of hectic weather, you can even plan to travel during early spring or late fall.
The main shoulder-season advantages are (relatively) cheap hotels in Amsterdam and cheap airfare to Amsterdam.
However, getting from London to Amsterdam is generally inexpensive and simple year-round, thanks to the growing number of low-cost airlines. In little over an hour and for under £50 (and often much less), you can fly from one city to another.
