Music Day 2007
Exhibition Road in Knightsbridge is home to some of London’s most popular museums such as the V&A, Science and Natural History Museums as well as Imperial College, the Royal Geographical Society, the Royal College of Music and Royal Albert Hall are close by as is the Goethe-Institut. Next week many of these institutions will be venues for the Exhibition Road Music Day, a free festival of live music with over 70 performances.
Music on the day includes everything from classical to African drumming, samba and steel bands, Thai music, Bulgarian choirs, various DJ sets and a lot more. All the shows are free, there’s no advanced booking and entry is on a first come come seated basis.
Music Day is on 21 June from 10am-midnight and is part of Fête de la Musique, an international live music festival that takes place every year on 21 June in 340 cities around the world. The nine London venues for the day are the Goethe-Institut, Imperial College London, Institut francais, Natural History Museum, Royal Albert Hall, Royal College of Music, Science Museum & Dana Centre, The Ismaili Centre and Victoria & Albert Museum.
